sewing time

all these funky fabrics will be pants for my long-legged little fella for his birthday. The batik with gold fern detail is my fav and has a matching shirt. I also plan to paint a detailed OOAK to match one of the other fabrics.

my shiny star!

I revamped this cute little suit as it was badly stained. I have dip dyed it and added some stenciled stars. Simple, yet really cute for DS to wear when we go out on his birthday night.

He is such a shiny star, so golden in nature, I hope this suit reflects a bit of that beauty I see to others.

....soon to be 2, happy birthday Z!!!!!!

off and racing

This gorgeous wool arrived today from Jolly Jumbuck just in time. It is called driftwood and the most gorgeous natural colourway with a splash of warm blue.
I am knitting a earflap hat for DS for his birthday which is this week, better get those hands moving!

incidental art

I love these photos - I call the series 'incidental art'. I was dyeing today and this was the end result of my hands, but because I love rainbows, I couldn't let it go to waste so took a series of photos. I have some really great ones but am holding them back for a personal project.

Here are two from the series - this one is 'begger'
and this one is 'Uncle Sam'

Z does the APT

My favourite exhibition of all times is back, the Asia Pacific Triennial and this time I got to take Zac. He completely loved it. He especially loved the foam little people. Here are the ones we made. The purple one on the right is a self-portrait of me. I think the blue one on the left with a 90 degree angle head is Zac - smiley and jolly! I especially love how he put their heads on angles, give a more real look. He such a little artists!

And he sat really entranced by the Talvin Singh interactive exhibit. But Talvin Singh, what can I say, he is pure genius. Glad Z loved it. I knew listening to all that trance and doof pregnant would pay off.
And here he is climbing the futon mountain. This one made me sad I was too big for it :(. It took some work to get Z to come have lunch, he wanted to stay climbing the mountain.

craft for art's sake

I have decided to try my hand at quilting. My 1st project will be a bag as a present for someone.
It will be a lined and padded shoulder bag with zip. I hope to quilt a simple frog theme with lots of green as the eventual owner loves green.
I found this simple frog pattern, hopefully I can manage it.

And I am going to make DS some more clothes as he has outgrown last year's effort.
It feels great to start some projects that aren't for my business.

time for a rest

Two new customs have been nabbed for Feb, my zencart store has some stock, and I have released the 2nd installation of advocacy for a modern age - moo moo no chew chew shirts @ Ozebaby (vego advocacy).

Hand illustrated by a friend Isha Black, and heat transfered onto a sweatfree tee, they are so cute and non-confrontational.
Uni starts back in two weeks ..eeek!.. so I'm taking a break from major business until I am settled in the semester. I have a few hand painted pieces to finish, but am in no hurry and want to paint DS a cute set for his b'day. Can't believe my boy will be 2 in a few weeks!

La-di-da-di-da finished!

January custom slot tee 2, hand dyed and hand painted. I really would have loved to keep this for DS, because we all know frogs go...

Feisty finished!

Feb customs coming very soon!

I have nearly finished my 2nd custom for January. That means Feb customs slots will be sometime this week.
I will preview the slots available on Ozebaby first so people can have a good read and thing whether they want one and what they may want. There will be a time and date they go live so everyone knows.
That is the best I can do for now. Customs seem to be an issue for many WAHMs trying to make it fair for everyone. I want to paint for someone who hasn't got any of my stuff, and hope that someone new gets my slot. If customs start to become as issue for me however, I will just not offer them.

cute turtle

I painted this singlet to match a gorgeous AIO that Trudy (Nappylicious) has made for her DS. Can't wait to see photos to see how they look together.

la-di-da-di-da upate

so close to finished. it has been annoying me as I just need to sit down and do a few more things (1 session) and it's done, but I haven't been able to for 4 days... argh!!! I might sneak off early from today's nappycino to get it done.

flamingos up close

I have finally listed it on Ozebaby after much admiring and patting. I think this is my favourite/best work so far, there is something magical about it - peaceful I think.
It is so super dreamy and just enchants me looking at it.
Ok, I know that sounds egotistical, but sometimes you just wow yourself! LOL
